Welcome to Itinify! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Itinify mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Current Data Collection:

• Trip Content: URLs, text, or images you provide to create itineraries
• Trip Data: Itineraries you create are stored locally on your device
• Processing Data: Your content is temporarily sent to our servers for AI processing

Future Features (Coming Soon):

• Account Information: Email address and password if you create an account
• Purchase Information: Transaction data for in-app purchases (processed securely by Apple)
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous data about app usage to improve performance and features

Information We Do NOT Collect:

• We do not track your location in the background
• We do not access your contacts or photos without permission
• We do not collect personal information unless you provide it

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process your travel content and generate personalized itineraries
• Provide location information and directions for activities
• Save your trips locally on your device
• Improve our app's functionality and user experience
• Send you important updates about the app (if you have an account)

3. Third-Party Services

To provide our services, we work with trusted third-party providers:

OpenAI

Your trip content (URLs, text, images) is sent to OpenAI's API to extract destinations, activities, and times. OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy.

Google Maps & Places API

Location names are sent to Google to provide addresses, photos, ratings, and directions. Google processes this data according to their Privacy Policy.

Apple

If you make in-app purchases, Apple processes your payment information according to their Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your saved trips are stored on your device using Apple's secure storage
• Temporary Processing: Content sent to our servers is processed immediately and not permanently stored
• Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS

5. Data Retention

• Trip data stored on your device remains until you delete the app or manually delete trips
• Processing data on our servers is not permanently stored and is deleted after processing
• If you create an account in the future, account data will be retained until you request deletion

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request information about what data we have about you
• Delete: Delete your trips locally by removing them in the app
• Opt-Out: Stop using the app at any time
• Data Portability: Export your trip data from the app

7. Children's Privacy

Itinify is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. International Users

Itinify is operated from the United Kingdom. If you are accessing the app from outside the UK, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the UK and other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your personal data. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent and our legitimate interest in providing the service.
